I never did understand why the media insist on associating any stories to do with UK Prime Minster Gordon Brown with a seriously miserable image of the guy. The media though can choose when and where they use images, it's great that they have this freedom...but what about the images on the personal website of the man himself?

Telegraph News

Somewhere along the way someone thought placing a glum image of the man next to a story about the UK winning the fight on depression was a good idea?

Politicians in other countries always appear to be happy, cheery and friendly in official images. It's about time politicians in the UK would insist their image is portrayed positively.

He just looks like he's thinking. The bags under his eyes don't help though.

I'd have to disagree with this statement.

Firstly, I think representing oneself honestly would be more virtuous than obscuring the reality under a veneer. Of course, that's approximately impossible for any mortal.

Secondly, does this guy look happy, cheery or friendly?

dM, is that a photograph issue by himself or is that one the newspapers took?

I honestly don't know. It looks like studio lighting to me. I just thought it was funny.
