I'm deciding what is the best way to backup huge data:

DVD
Tape
External hard drive

Can anyone give me a suggestion or point me to a review of the best media use to backup data?

Many thanks in advance!

Well it depends on your needs of accessing the backed up data. DVD is perminatly burn to the disc. Tape backup and hard drives are rewritable, tape drives are slower than hard drives. You can use microsoft's backup that comes with windows, or you can go out and buy a bigger software package that has more bells and whistles. I don't know if the microsoft backup has compression software built into it. But those are my thoughts on the subject. I would stick to Hard drives or tape drives, for cost reasons. If your running a newer OS you could just mirror the drive, that saves you from physical damage (except for lightning :D ) well enjoy :D
