Working TiVo Premier recordings with AppleTV

Hello
I want to transfer & convert my TiVo Premier recordings to AppleTV format at 1080p. I tested a freeware. Unfortunately it crashed on my first TiVo file import! They do not have any tech support, so I have to look around for one workable app.
Anyone here has any advice?

I am not familiar with TiVo, so you'll have to provide a bit of information. Do you have to use the software(the freeware) to transfer the files from your TiVo, or can you do it a different way? If you can do it a different way, what format are the recordings in once you have them on your computer?
