Roger Waters

Wickedly talented musician who's music means more to me than anyone else's, I feel he and I are very much alike (at least by our out-look on life and music) that it wouldn't be much more than a change of skin and lifestyle...

My first thought was that I would want to be Nicole Kidman, but I realize now that I would never leave the house if that were the case.

So, my second choice would be Nick Hexum, because today is 3/11 and I love 311.

How about being the person that made the final decision not to make Microsofts contract with IBM exclusive to IBM ?

Out of Scott Muellers "Upgrading and repairing PCs, 14th edition"
Quote:
In the early days of thePC,when IBM was clearly in controll of the PC hardware standard, it hired Microsoft to provide most of the core software for the PC. IBM devoloped the hardware, wrote the BIOS (basic input/output system), and then hired Microsoft to devolop the disk operating (DOS), as well as several other programs and utilities for the PC. Later in what is viewed as the most costly business mistake in history, IBM failed to secure exclusive rights to the DOS they had contracted from Microsoft, either by purchasing it outright or by an exclusive liscense agreement. Instead IBM liscensed it non-exclusively, which allowed Microsoft to sell the same MS-DOS code to any other company that was interested. In retrospect , that single contractual error made Microsoft into the dominant software company it is today, and subsequently caused IBM to lose controll over the very PC standard they had created.

There is no better band on earth, in my never to be humble opinion.
They are everything music should be: fun, combining styles, original, and
just plain good music.

Have you heard their remake of The Cure's "Love Song?" It's phenominal.

I'm stunned by this piece of information dM....

OOOOO Yes!!!! I've got a temporary copy of "Love Song" in my playlist. Temporary until iTunes starts selling it. I love 311 for the same reasons you do. When I first got "Evolver", it was the only CD I listened to for about 3 weeks. Yay 311!!!!!
