Do you use a proxies?

Well I am looking for a good web based proxy, Or a good proxy download. Could any of you point me in the right direction.

Just for surfing the net, I am trying to find ones that does not fill my screen with ads.

You can try tor. I haven't heard anything about ads but I have heard that it can be on the slow side since it's a 3 hop proxy.

I pay for a service which provides an SSH tunnel for web surfing, IRC and SSH connections. It's $5.95 per month.

ya, 5.95$/mo seems like a pretty good price for the service actually.

I have known about cotse for years but it wasn't until recently that I started using their service. There is a #helpdesk channel on irc.cotse.net which is always available.
