This thread was inspired by the How fast have you ever driven thread.

What is your favorite car and why?

Mine would have to be the Lotus Elise because of it small size, great performance to weight ratio, and excellent road handling.

Anything that spells “hand made” Ferrari, Lambo, McLaren, Bugatti EB110…
And some unique cars like the famous Lancia Delta HF integrale, Lancia Stratos, Subaru SVX, Renault ClioV6…
In away if it’s made in the old continent it’s just plain wonderful.

My favorite car is…well it’s a 4x4, It’s the notorious >> Lamborghini LM002

Why? Because almost 20 years before any Hummer was around, this 4x4 was bound for success, but like all Italian cars, they were well beyond any competition, and because of that early design in a era where nobody cared for SUV’s, it simply got forgotten in history without anybody knowing it, except for real amateurs, if this car was put in the market today the Hummer would be so shy in is pants that just the name would be laughed at big time.

Integrale's not bad, but I'd rather have the Stratos.. maybe an 037...

I don't drive... I hate cars.. only way you'll get me in control of a vehicle is if it's got 2 wheels. But, I always said if I'd ever get a car, it'd be a Stratos.

The Mustang is an acceptable car but not wonderful, I owned a 94 Mustang 5.0 and trust me even with 245/45R16 Toyo PROXES tires, I never felt as safe as my 91 thunderbird SC or my 89 ProbeGT, which both ad cheap tires (Goodyear ? and Michelin pilot), the Mustang is powerful but you can’t corner with it, the back end is to light and the front is to heavy, an American car what!!!
But for acceleration nothing ad a sound like it, especially mine ad competition headers and H pipe, what a sound!!!
Oh! Ya, it was unreliable too! So as my Thunderbird and my present minivan the 96 Ford Winstar, what a peace of junk, problems after problems, weirdly my 89 Ford probe GT turbo was a Bijou, but no surprise there, it was made by Mazda.
But I can’t wait for this fall, me and my wife, we are seriously considering buying the new Chevrolet Equinox, a real beauty, and of course it will be my first GM??? Scary as well, but fudge man only American cars are in our price range, or else the Acura MDX made right here in Canada would of been my choice, but 50.000$, no way!!! :(

Honda should make tanks, I had an '85 accord, hatchback, manual, P.O.S.(piece of  ) that I bought for $420 to beat around in. I ran into and over anything and everything youll ever see thrown away in an alley, big black dumpsters, couches (most fun when they have beds in them), tables, major appliances, learned the hard way that they put barracades over potholes for a reason. Most I ever had to do was take a coat hanger and jerry rig the bumper to stay up. :D I sold it twice, once for $200, bought it back for $100, then sold it again for $420. When I sold it the second time it had over 500,000 miles on it. :D I miss that piece of s**t so much

As far as speed, the car I wanted for the last two years, has been the 350Z, and now I have it. My dad had a datsun, and I loved that when I was 5. The next vehicle I would love to have is the Infinity FX.

And with the Ford Mustang, yeah they look nice, but I don't want a car that everyone in the world has. When I am driving, I see at least a 1/2 dozen where ever I go. I wouldn't pay over $20,000 for a car that just has great 0-60 times, I want a car that is pure performance all around.

i love cars anykind you can imagine but my favs i would have to say anything porsche they are by far one of the best engineers in the car market. they make the only 6cyl engine that is air cooled and faster them most v8 and v10 in its class.

but by far my favorite is the inline 6cyl twin turbo 1993-1997 toyota supra. i dont know if its old memories from when my brother had one or the car itself but ive liked it since it came out

ahh my favorite car

well I would have to say it was my first car

man me and this car drove through alot of memories

I think you should all desreve to have

and see a car like this

but I have to prepare you for it

you will see this car and want to go to the dealership

so make sure they don't rip you off

get a fair price

and rip a bunch of extra's of them

:D

anyways,

I think there is a big enough space waste here

just a few more lines

until you see this

top class car

with supiriour transmition

great fuel economy

capaple of tremenbous speeds

and looks great

ready to see the car?

here we go

the car to end all cars

Personally, anything American will do in my book. I have been through a few cars myself. A 76 chevy pickup, 80 camaro, 88 formula, 86 IROC Z28, 95 Bonneville SSEi, and now an 04 malibu. The Bonneville had 188,xxx miles on it when I sold it, and it would still blow the doors off of half the little rice rockets running around my neighborhood. I guess that was my favorite. I probably would get another sportscar someday, but 1) I don't have the money now, and 2) I'm too tall to fit into them. I do love cars so I had to comment on this thread.

Mustangs rock :) I love them. although I'm not much of a car person. I've never owned one and always rode bikes. but i have, shall we say, "happy memories" from a particular mustang.

so I'm liking these in particular

http://www.autobytel.com/content/resear ... _int/31484

in navy blue :)

Although a little off topic, but i did just buy one of these, dropped the back end with shorter shocks, bigger gas tank, different handlebars and painted it zebra print :)

Yes rtm, you have to search far and wide for a car with looks to rival the Lotus...but for sheer class you have to admit BMW is the car to be seen in, it drules money lololol
but a life saver car i once had a driving lesson in is a Volvo, !!OMG!! rtm i'll never forget that lesson as long as i live lolol when it came to taking the corner, it was like trying to turn a flippin tank, heavy handling was'nt in it, i then took 15 lessons in a citreon ax, a very small car.
:D passed my theory test but did'nt follow through on the lessons, still have my theory certificate, it was a piece of cake, i sat there for 15 mins, did the paper work, put my hand up please i'v finished(you had to put your hand up) in case others had'nt finished, and passed the test, nail biting though waitng 3 weeks for the result !!

rtm, how time changes, and in such a short time, i have of course heard about the comp version.
Its also a lot harder now, i swatted for two years to get things right, but now no way would i pass so easily, and i would'nt want to drive now, our roads are so busy, most are lunatics and care for no one...its not like driving super fast gets you anywhere in England, so many speed camers, traffic lights, and the law..
My lad got arrested last week for driving down his own back lol they said he was speeding, they also said he hit some copper or other, well he did'nt, and ya know rtm what they did'nt know was a neighbour had a security camera on his house roof over looking the back in question, lol it took in every single move the car made, anyway the day before he was due in court he got a phone call, no need to appear for the driving offence no case to answer lmaooo
it was all on video, the law had no case!! but my son has, hes going for wrongful arrest :D they always presume that the driver of a fast car is going to commit a driving offence...they radioed the number plate, and got back the nmessage, yes it is blue and car make is correct..make you sick the law does at times rtm...they were out to get him and failed miserably!!

I'd have to say for a mid-priced car I'd choose the new Subaru Imprezza WRX STI (over 300 HP Stock and all wheel drive). Subaru is another car that runs forever. Right now I have two subaru legacys and they both have over 200,000 miles and run great. I beat the living sh** out of them too. Its hard to kill a subaru. If I had the money I would have a 1999 Nissan Skyline RJ33 imported from Japan with a stage four turbo kit and over 800HP (all wheel drive). The only cars that beat hooked up skylines are McLearean F1s.
