I recently registered a domain name, and I want to park it there and put Google Adsense on the domain, and see if it can generate any traffic or income from that. How long does it typically take for Google Adsense to approve a new account?

There is no fix time for approval but according to my experience it may take 7 to 15 days for approval. Please read http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/A ... 8835&hl=en

The whole verification process for google adsense is becoming harder and harder all you need to have is a good content in your website.

Don't focus on making money on Adsense first, especially if you just started building the site/blog. Focus FIRST on quality over quantity. This doesn't require you to be some professional content writer. You just need to create website that can help people solve their problems or entertain them. If you can't write like professional writer, you can just be a personal-speaking writer.

And this is more loved by these days' audience than professional-type writers. After that, you need to focus on the promotion, and this means, promoting your website to many social media sites or high authority sites like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Google +, Tumblr, Myspace, YahooAnswer, Wikipedia, Flickr and many more. Even though you'll mostly get no-follow links on these sites, don't underestimate them though. They will bring huge impact to your site.

After getting consistent organic traffic from Google, then you can begin submitting your site on Adsense. It usually will take some weeks because Google real human will review your site. Trust me, it's useless to use Adsense if you only get around 100 organic traffic per day.

That's why, try to find the topic that is profitable on Adsense that is also allowed by Google to use Adsense. And then create website with good branding (good domain name that is easy to understand and remember by visitors). Create contents that help real people solve their problems (find the one that is still unique these days). Do the hardcore promotion to your site. if the traffic starts to flow, and reach around 300 to 500, then it's probably time to start putting those Adsense codes to your site.
