Post 3+ Months Ago

A couple of months ago i upgraded my analytics code on my site from Urchis.js to ga.js.

My site resides as a subdomain of a larger site.

For example: I run the site on hungryhippos/newsroom as opposed to just hungryhippos

Rather than using a traditional account, I decided to implement cross-domain tracking so i added the following code to the rest of my analytics code on my page:

HTML Code: [ Select ]
<!--Start of Google Analytics Code-->
pageTracker._setCookiePath("/newsroom/");
pageTracker._trackPageview();
} catch(err) {}</script>
  1. <!--Start of Google Analytics Code-->
  2. pageTracker._setCookiePath("/newsroom/");
  3. pageTracker._trackPageview();
  4. } catch(err) {}</script>

The result wasn't obvious at first, but where i noticed it, was on the average time on site. In previous months the avg time was about 2:00 min to 2:30 min now suddenly its up to 14 minutes. Which is completely insane.

Anyone know how to fix this?
