Are Frames against SEO?

Hi,
I recently read a SEO article saying that frames are against SEO. It is also said that Frames will confuse Google crawler.

Is it true?Should i avoid frames for doing On page SEO

personally a site with frame doesnt seem to be so professional. Another thing is that when people try to search for some keyword and manage to find your site, google will lead that user directly to that frame page instead of the main index page and hence you may lose some navigation etc.

In other word, I dont think there's any problem with google crawling your site. the problem lies in when user find your site, google will lead them to the individual page instead of the main page with the navigation etc.

Frames are basically a dead technology. There's no reason to use them and you will definitely be hurt in terms of SEO.

There is really no reason to use frames these days. You can simulate frames using div tags and CSS, and be extremely SEO friendly at the same time.

Don't forget PHP Includes. Frames are a dead technology.

Look into <div> tags and the overflow: property in CSS. Great alternative to frames!

The answer is "Yeah" frames are a Big NO for the SEO purposes.

hi,
frames are not against seo but frames are not search engine friendly. this is true that google get confused with frames, which may hurt your site. frame in site is an obsolete technique now days. it will be better not to use any frame in your website if you want to make your site search engine friendly.

Yes, Because spiders may index the wrong page. Frames consist of different pages so I suggest using tables and divisions can help.

I will replace frames with div tags... or iframe.
iframe stand for Inner Frame.
you get more flexibility from this iframe. it can be place inside your webpage.
