Is that an opinion Alan? Have you tried it? How is it helpful? Have you gotten any results from your social friends? Did you go to Google Labs and actually join the experiment, or are you talking off the top of your head about something you've never even seen in action? Do you have a gmail account or accounts at social sites like twitter and FriendFeed where you might actually get any relevant "social circle" results? Or is this just another of your one line posts that contributes really nothing at all to the topic?

Sorry if that seems harsh, but I find the topics in the SEO forums, extremely uninformational, loaded with opinion, dribbled with Spam keywords everywhere, and very little that can actually benefit anyone.

On Topic:
In theory it's an interesting concept. I've tried it, however, and haven't gotten one relevant result from my "social circle".

To the OP it would probably be more beneficial to reader's of this topic if you actually included some information about Social Search instead of taking the opportunity to post two lines about it and plugging your website with a keyword spam.

For those reading this who actually might be interested in checking it out, it was announced 3 days ago on Googleblog.

Your friends and contacts are a key part of your life online. Most people on the web today make social connections and publish web content in many different ways, including blogs, status updates and tweets. This translates to a public social web of content that has special relevance to each person. Unfortunately, that information isn't always very easy to find in one simple place. That's why today we're rolling out a new experiment on Google Labs called Google Social Search that helps you find more relevant public content from your broader social circle.

Damn ATNO, lol.

I checked out the demonstration and found it useless for my "circle". If i want to know what my friends think, I'll ask them.

One google product that i'll never use.

Google social search service is meant to enable to find material published by people know easily. It is an opt-in feature, we need to sign in to start using it. After this a new filtering option called social is available. By clicking on this option it will refine the search results to include relevant information published by our friends and contacts.
