Hi all...

Check out this page: http://www.internationalrentals.com/index.html

Old trick of putting text in the same color as the background...

Is google ignore it? It has a PR of 4/10 !

Can anyone explain it?

Guy.

Google just doesn't catch everything. There are so many site's like that out there. All I can tell you is report, report, report and maybe post this in any forums that you are a part of.

This thread is being old but I still like to post here.

Google some how ignore the sites which are using Black Hat Tactice and even punish some decent site which are good in ranking.

During my tenure of these years I am afraid that I still dont know how google will behave.. All I observe that it all depends upon the people who are working in google and how they react on complains..

Template monster was blacklisted by google few months ago and now gain back its rank again, they have done new linkings with the sites with hire ranks and done a bit SEO too, now they are back in google again.

But the question remain same? what will be the fate of the company if they are attacked by there competitors... I am foreseeing a very unhealthy competition in near future.

Maybe they have the text colour set as hex and the background set as decimal.
I dont know if that would help them stay out of trouble, but the colour codes would be different even though the colours are the same..

could that help a site get round it?

In any case hidden text is not allowed. This site used a large amount of hidden texts and its a wonder google is providing them PR5 too, where as this update where the genuine sites who have no SEO tricks with PR6 are totally removed from google.

Its a pitty....

My guess is that Google does not consider those words as relevent
to the search, but does consider them as text, which diminishes the
overall keyword density.

Bottom line is the webmaster shoots himself in the foot.

PR, is a factor or backlinks, not on page characteristics.

If the site ranks well in the results of a search, it's for other reason,
not the hidden text.

I hate snitches. Just mind your business and worry about your own sites.

Nobody likes snitches, but it's simply not fair that someone else can get away with cheap tricks while everyone else has to play by the rules. If everyone thought like you and started using SEO tricks like that, then search engines would become useless because they could no longer display sites which were actually relevant to the user's search.

When it comes to others using underhanded techniques to potentially take your money & profit away, being a "snitch" is no more of a disgusting notion than the methods you're reporting.
