Page Rank Update Megathread

Anyone notice it? Today the search results from Google have changed quite dramatically since a previous dramatic change in January --- is this just for Germany, or is anyone else out there seeing new changes?

Hmm, they changed dramatically for me about a week ago, I wonder if that is the one you are seeing?

Yes, the update is Brandy. The results are as good, if not better than in early November, before Florida and Austin. Im not just saying that because the clients I lost are now all back in top positions either

So now we've had Florida, Austin, and Brandy -- where does the name Brandy come from? Any theories on what changes have been added/removed to Google's ranking algorithm?

From what I can tell they are giving more importance back to the anchor text, and are also relaxing the strictness of the previoius algorithm where they penalize sites that seem to be overoptimized. As to why they are calling this one Update Brandy, I couldn't tell ya.

I don't know where the name came from, but it starts with B because its the next letter in the alphabet, kinda like how they name hurricanes.

I am really loving this update, not only are all my sites that fell to the earlier updates back, but the relevancy seems to have increased.

They gave more weight to the site content rather than the backlinks and they are working very hard as they do not care so many bugs while updating mosdtly directory listing.
The old , mainly new algorithm which is built %90 of the backlinks were just caused to the spam - they have to think that before but anyway they are changing this - balancing with the site content , also they want to give chance to new sites by new ranking parameters.

Where do i know i just put myself to theirs

Ops its not just the guess , i want to mean that i see it very clearly from my search results change , very radical change-raise altough pr of 1 one of my site - really iam ranking, i only guess the reason of that.

They started changing last night as a matter of fact. We had been testing a new instant ranking tool http://4retards.com/ibl/ranker.php and we saw all kinds of fluctuations all night. Reminded me sorta of the old dance

In my opinion, the new rolling update is a good thing. It means we dont have to wait a full month for SERP changes.

The changes to the google serps have been happening daily for quite a while now. I have been using a ranking tool for Google for almost 6 months now. Daily serp changes are nothing new.

Just got news in that Google is in the process of updating backlinks and Pagerank. At least one datacenter that is showing the new PR and backlinks which is located at this IP:

Woohoo!!! If I go to the new site (the one I've been waiting to get sorted in Google for about 2 1/2 months now), right click, and view backlinks, nothing, nadda, zilch, zero, empty...

I replace http://www.google.com with 66.102.9.104, and up comes "Results 1 - 10 of about 514" - So, it's started to add them!!

Hopefully they'll hit the real thing soon

Is there a way to find out how this datacenter rates your PR? I haven't found a way in the Google toolbar to input a custom IP to get PR from (can it be edited via the registry? Or do you think it's hard-coded into the toolbar?)
