Hi,

I have 5 domains which each have a PR4 - but I have hardly promoted the sites, most have no backlinks.

Anyone have any idea of how they came to be PR4?

Thanks!

probably achieved it through internal linking.
Your internal pages linking to each other counts towards PR.

If thet get indexed by Google then your site have some backlinks, otherwise Google shows 0 PR.
And, remember internal links do give some backlink to.

can be due to internal links and content.

PR is a function of backlinks only. It's nothing to do with content.

By content he probably means the amount of pages on the site, Which would all have links to the index.. Though i can't speak for nicky.

I take it back!

Thought you meant the content of your pages had a direct impact on PR :-)

It's possible the domains have been registered before and may have PR from then?

I don't think so as when I registered them they were PR0. I simply bought the domains, linked them to my site and all of them became PR4! I bought another website which was PR0 and that also became PR4 while I owned it. All in all I've had about 6 or 7 sites which have become PR4 without me promoting them or getting any backlinks.

PR depends on your backlinks. Your internal links are considered while giving PR. So because of this your site is showing that PR.
