Umm, why do you need an e-book (assuming one even exists)? Everything you need to know is Right Here (adsense) or Here (adwords)

Hi dhoyin,

There are several eBooks available for AdWords, although I haven't read any of them and consequently can't make a recommendation. I have read Joel Comm's 'Adsense Secrets' ( http://www.adsense-secrets.com ) eBook, which is a great book for AdSense beginners - it pretty much covers all of the basics, and should help you to increase your CTR. :D

HTH,

I never trust things you have to buy that claim to help you "get rich". If the system is really that flawless, why is that guy trying to make money selling "adsense secrets" and not spending his time making sites that make "at least $1000 a month"?

There are 2 secrets for earning with adsense.
1. Get lots and lots of visitors.
2. put the adverts where people can see them.

Apart from that there is little else you can do.

I can honestly say that I thought this way for most of my life, but recently I've had a change of heart. I think this is probably due to the good fortune of meeting and interacting with some very successful people - and I'm not just talking about financial success here. Based on my experience, those who are truly successful actually enjoy sharing their success, and helping others to succeed, as well. There are certainly scams a'plenty, on the Internet and everywhere else, but I think it's important not to throw the baby out with the bathwater. Some materials designed to help others...actually help others. :D

This, of course, begs the argument "If they really want to help others, then why don't they just give it away for free?" A good question, and there are three answers:

1. Some do give it away for free
2. Anything acquired for free has inherently less value to the receiver, and placing a value on the material by charging for it increases the likelyhood that the buyer will actually learn and apply it
3. Since the creator has put in the "sweat equity" necessary to acquire and assimilate the knowledge, he or she has every right to charge for it.

After reading Joel Comm's book, my CTR went from roughly 3%-5% to 17%-20% - it has paid for itself many times over. I was an uber-newbie when I read it, and I think all of the information in it is probably available for free in the forums. But it requires a lot more time and energy to accumulate and assimilate all of the information from the forums than it does to buy, read, and apply the knowledge contained in an eBook. The way I see it, I'm not really buying a book - I'm buying another person's knowledge and experience, accumulated over hours, months, or even years of effort. For the typical eBook price of less than $100.00, I call that a bargain.

Just my two cents, for what it's worth...

Lots of people seem to recommend Joel Comms book but I have also heard that its only useful for beginners.
Seasoned adsense users can learn themselves and from forums like this.

I would say that this is pretty accurate - a lot of the book is "the basics", which I've since read here-and-there in various forum posts. For anyone new to the information, the book is probably the more efficient way to assimilate the knowledge. :D

Yes, im reading Joel comms book (adsense secrets), and really have valuable information, it´s truth, you can find may be 90% of the information on the web, but if you want to save a LOT of time, then buy a book like Adsense Secrets, so im preffer Adsense Videos from Michael Cheney, step by step videos are more easy that read and asimilate information on books :D

You not read any books for earning money with adsense. I used google adsense program one year. As my experiance geting targeted traffic is one of the best tips.

What a complete load.

I think you have read so much marketing babble you have started to believe it.

Well, I suppose everyone is entitled to his or her opinion - and yours would appear to place me squarely in the "too stupid to learn from something you get for free" category.

Here's some information on research done on this issue, for anyone who may be interested:

I wasn't necessarily saying that you were stupid, it was more that the person selling it thinks we all are.

Quote:
New research from Harvard Business School’s Francesca Gino suggests that if we pay for information, we tend to overweigh its actual value.

All that means is people are more likely to believe what they are told if they have had to pay to hear it, Not only more likely to believe it, But more likely to over emphasis it's importance....
If someone people need to pay for something in order to learn form it, That is something quite unbelievable.

And why doesn't he give a free version, for us "non-idiots" who can learn without paying?
I think it may be because the reason he charges is because he wants to get rich, Not because he wants us to earn more by paying.
