I tried for four years to get listed in DMOZ. I never did and gave up. Google I was listed in a day after submitting. And DMOZ and Google are NOT the same.

Ya same here tried to get into DMOZ with many of my sites for many years, never happened on any of them. Is there even anyone there anymore or are they just ignoring all of us. And I get any new site into google in a blink of an eye, so I don’t bother anymore with DMOZ

DMOZ is the web directory that is hard to get in..Because they have a good reputation and a High PR, that's why when we submit sites to their categories it takes months for that site to be listed, because they are avoiding spamming into their directory..

DMOZ are very particular (so it seems) about who and why they list certain websites. In saying this, yes its quite difficult to get in. But when you do, prepare to do a backflip because your indexing will soar.
