I have noticed an interesting thing that after intensive submitting website to web link directories Google ranking positions are often rapidly dropping down and return back later! Usually website has even better Google ranking results after a month. I watched this process many times in my practice. Do you know how can this be explained?

I think you didn't watched it closer because in my opinion maybe the links in the directories were not crawled immediately that is why it took some time.

You see after intensive directory submission Google search engine positions are dropping down first and then they return and become even better!

Google will be devaluing directory submission sooner or later, well maybe not for high authority directory sites.

I think it is better to submit a website to 50 web link directories per month regularly rather than submit to 200 directories per day and stop doing this!

I totally agree with this.

Links to your site be natural. There must be no explicit pressure or consideration for getting backlinks. If so, search engine will penalize on your site.
Therefore, we must be very careful in our link building campaign.

Directory is not very effective when it comes to gaining backlinks its because of its slow approval of your links,....I think reciprocal may help to get approved by directories.
