We also observed an increase in the Backlinks (almost doubled) but we have not seen any update in the PR fo quite some time now..

Any change in Google idea about PR or as marengo suggested we can forget PR as for the past 3 updates there has been no update in PR for around 80 sites we manage for SEO.

Thanks

there are some hot news about PR update for me also want to share them with you...
We must forget the Toolbar PR update because Google is updating PR's at every backlink update but it doesnt shown at the Toolbar for the third time but The PR updates are visible :D only for Google dir listed pages:
1- here is the Ozzu http://directory.google.com/Top/Compute ... nd_Forums/ Ozzu seems having a PR8 but now or at the previous BL update it has back to the PR7
2- about our site thats is listed here http://directory.google.com/Top/Compute ... Hosting/N/ now showing a PR6 but The Toolbar still shows pr5 for the last 2 months.

I dont know the way of report new PR's for the other sites but if you have your site listed at Google Dir. you are so lucky but not just for noticing your new PR also I am assuming that Google give much much more value to the sites that listed at their Directory.

Dolay - I wouldn't totally rely on that Google directory still. The Google Directory has never ever shown Ozzu to be PR8, it has always been PR7 or below but in fact we have been PR8 for many many months when still it was showing 7 in the Google directory.

hi, sorry for the wrong report for the OZZU. As i explain little bit on the post, not sure if the Ozzu was backed? to the pr7 on the Google dir. at this update or at the previous BL updates according that i was assuming the PRs at the Google Dir. is being updated upon every BL updates and were synchronized with Toolbar PR's until last 2 months...

Maybe the Google were started to update PR's correctly on the Google Dir. for the last 2 months rather than Toolbar PRs and is going to planning to update PRs at a secret database with visible PRs for the sites that has listed at their Directory... not sure, i just heard it today from a friend whom is doing cut works for the other search engines and it become me so logical according the new habits of the Google.

I agree with Big W. Google Directory never seemed to reflect the correct PR. And I don't see any evidence yet that it started doing so now.

Google only added 6 links for me ... :(

This time my newest link is a post from OZZU started on Aug 13.

They seem to be getting quicker at adding links.
Used to be 5 weeks ... this update is LESS than 3 weeks.

Maybe Google is too busy trying to keep current ... there is no time or processing power left over to update PR.

It seems that backlinks are updates once a month and PR is updated once in three months. I think there was such proposal to google guys in webmaster forum some time ago.

Content seems to be updates on weekly basis.

Frequently updates will perform the competition but what about PR updates - i am curious about it: we were planning to exchange links with pr6-7 sites after we have rised to the pr6-7 by the backlinks that we have purchased at the last months however according to the rankings and Google dir we have rised to the pr6 but linkexchanging wont be available with high pr sites since toolbar PR still doesnt updated :(
