Just been overclocking my 6800GT GFX and was just wondering if anyone has done the same sort of thing with their 6800GT and what the top core/memory speeds were ?

Stock settings:
350MHz Core
500MHz Memory
1.3v Core

Flashed settings:
450MHz Core
700MHz Memory
1.5v Core

Am I pushing it a little here ?

Ok, word to the wise here and for those ever looking at overclocking their GFX card ....

Don't overclock a 6800GT to 450/700 @1.5v !! It doesn't like it.

Needed a reason to upgrade anyway.

You can test your GFX card by starting any 3D game. If the computer freezes, the GPU clock is too high, if there are errors in the textures, RAM clock is too high.

Aye, there were no obvious signs of overclocking too far even when gaming. It just decided to give out whilst it was idle.

Ah well.

ive gotten my leadteck up to 500mhz/1.1ghz
however, it idled at 70ºc and when in game hovered around 90ºc. i dont recommend oc'ing a graphics card to anyone unless there is adequate cooling in place.

Turns out I didnt physicaly melt the card. The RAM gave in instead.

my friend had a physically melted card [pcb was bloated, warped] but it worked, albeit there were severe problems with artifacts, bsods, and boot beeps, but it worked, till he blew several capacitors on the mobo and scarred his proc.

Aye, I think I will learn from that and just get a new GFX card, no point in damaging other components aswell.
