I have a nc 8000 HP laptop. A few days ago i was left on in the laptop bag and overheated. I cooled it off and it seemed to work fine. The only thing that is now not working that always has is the internal wireless card. In device manager there are no conflicts. Can anyone tell me how to confirm I fried the card or how to fix what is wrong?

See if the card gets an IP address. Disconnect the cat5, open a command prompt and run ipconfig /all .

If the card is fried, buy a USP to Cat5 adapter from Radio Shack. I have one for my Lenovo laptop that runs FreeBSD.
