ATI's drivers stink. But that is just my humble opinion.

will,if that is true,i might lean toward the 6800GT Ultra..because the drivers for the cheep little card i have in there now i like, let alone the ones for there bigger cards(nvidia)......dang..i am really in trouble now...

my old card i have in the game computer now is the Mad Dog PREDATOR MX 4000 Plus, which is a great card for only 60 some bucks.....but the drivers that come with it i really like,i can change screens start watching a DVD on the tv and stuff with just a click of the mouse, and if i cant do that with ATI's software/drivers then i am going with the 6800GT Ultra instead.....

screw it. buy a new mobo with pci-e and get a new 7800 gtx. be "+ 3 ]-[ |_| |3 3 12 |_ 3 3 7" of the family.

please forgive the blatant use of "l337speak" it was only used to enhance the context of which it was part of. it will never happen again...much

the mother board that i am planning this for is the board that i already upgraded from...the new board i got is for my FX...but i don't want to just have this board laying around and i don't want to sell it because i paid like $220 for it and i wont get that for it,thats why i want to make it in to a gamming computer because it has a AMD Athlon 64 3700+ in it as well....but i need a huge AGP on it because it is a great computer but i don't want to just get rid of it because when my FX or workstations are rendering or something and i cant play games on them i can use the other one.that is what i am thinking....i have PCI-X in my new computer, but this one is only AGP..and your right,PCI-X is better and more around to shop for now days...

BUT,i swear this is the LAST AGP i will buy... :D

There's no such thing as a 6800GT Ultra. There's either the 6800 GT or the 6800 Ultra. The Ultra is the faster of the two.

All of those cards will run at about the same speed. The only difference is the bundled software and accessories, possibly the memory used, the cooling device, and the warranty. EVGA seems to be one of the best video card brands and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

A 6800GT Ultra would be sweet. Especially if it had a frickin laser beam on its AGP prongs!

if that is all true,i well go with the e-GeForce 6800 Ultra EE by EVGA
