I was wondering what you guys think of this computer case:

That is the one I am thinking of getting for whom I am building the computer. He wants a light/white computer case.

i don't think it's very attractive, and it's bulky-looking. But if that's what
he wants...

The guy is about 55 years old so I do not think he wants anything wild looking. He just wants something nice looking. What kind of case do you have?

This is the case I currently have:

http://www.pcmods.com/details.asp?prodID=45

but its blue. Mine and the one I am looking at is both made by Lian Li which is one of the highest quality cases you can find on the market. Since its aluminum it dissipates heat like 3 times better, and you should see the inside. I will try to find some screenshots.

well definitely trust yoru judgemnt, just stating my opinion. As for it
being for a 55yo guy, i understand totally.

i'm still debating on building my next pc rather than buying it. We'll see
when the time comes if I feel like dealing with that or not. hehe :P

Here are more details at Tom's Hardware Review:

http://www.tomshardware.com/consumer/20 ... se-19.html

Out of the 15 cases there the Lian Li was rated the highest

"When money is no object and you want the best of the best with exceptional configuration, performance, and quality, our first Editors' Choice goes to the Lian Li PC-6089A. Lian Li continues to push the limits of what is possible with case technology and lives up to its much-deserved reputation as an industry leader. "

Anyway I just want a high quality aluminum case, that is white. I cannot find many white ones, that is my problem so I feel limited on options

I personally do not care for white cases. I would rather have a silver or black case :)

I was thinking about getting him this case:

but the quality isn't really great on that case. It is white though, and I like the design.

Yeah about 150 bucks. Yeah I really dig Dell designs. I like that Dell case you have. I have a Dell LCD monitor and it has a nice slick design. I usually always look through Dell Magazines just to see what kind of styles they are using for their latest stuff. I doubt I would actually ever buy a computer from them though, as I think I could get a much better deal and computer not going through them. But for everythin else like monitors I would definetely consider them. I wonder if you could just buy cases from Dell. I would love that.

ever since i started doing installs and networking projects for dell I've
fallen in love with their hardware. I absolutely love it. Both the designs
and the reliablity.

Where they get you on their pricing is software and warranties. The
hardware is as cheap as some build-your-own places, but with dell you
have to buy some service and software. Kinda sux in that regard.

If I don't build my own, I'm 100%, no question, going with dell. I'm 100%
getting a monitor from them no matter what. Nice, nice stuff.

Dude I love my dell in every way! the case is SOO easy to work with, the design is state of the art and easy to upgrade. mine is a clam shell screwless design. even the pci cards are screwless, i just flip a latch and i have access to all the pci slots. opening the case is a cinch too press two thumb buttons and pull and it splits open like a taco exposing everything you need right there. two thumbs up on their case design. as far as their other components in general i have had literally zero problems (hardware related) and their support whom i have called a couple times for windows issues, seems very professional and knowledgeable, althouygh if you call after 10pm CST youll get a tech in India...

damn shame our jobs are all going over seas. it litterally affects me in a close way because i live close enough to the dell HQ, that if they didn't contract out to india i might have an opening with dell i could work for.. but my understanding is that they can get away with paying 1/3 of what they pay here in the states for thier employees. and even at 1/3 pay rate, they are considered rich people in india for those wages...

k enough rambling now...

Yea its big and bulky, I mainly got it for the window.. I absolutely love it being bigger than the standard case, gives you more room to play and allows better airflow aswell...
