Hi,
I am currently building a new file server in work. The machine being built is a HP ML370 and the hardware I took delivery of included a HP Compaq Smart Array 642 PCI-X Controller. I have set up a RAID 5 array off the new controller and am now about to install a new Ultrium 448 internal tape drive. There is an on board SCSI controller within the machine and I was wondering if its best to attach the tape drive to the already utilised Ultrium controller, or instead use the onboard controller? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
