Hi all,

I've an 18 month old 250GB 7200rpm sata Seagate with my XP install on it which has been getting bad sectors around every 3 months. Seatools for DOS always fixes them ok and bar the occasional important corrupted file all is well with the world again for a while until... rinse and repeat.

Having never had any bad sectors on any of my many previous hdds i wondered if anyone knew if this was sign of high likelihood of imminent failure or more of a product of more modern hi capacity drives or anything?

Any ideas please?

I would try to RMA it to Seagate, if it's still under warranty.
