Hello,
I am looking at buying a battery backup, what brand do you recommend?

I wish to run a desktop with 2 lcd monitors 12X17 inches "LG Flatron Wide"

A linksys "wrt54gs" wireless router,

A cable modem from Roadrunner, "WebSTAR DPX2203" by Scientific Atlanta.

I have heard APC is good, I want the longest runtime possible under 1,000 dollars.

Reviews on other battery backups and personal experiences welcome.

Thanks!

I have a Cyber Power one that I got from buy.com and I have been pleased. The only draw back is that the monitoring is through USB instead of serial so you need to have another special daemon running to use that feature.

well, when i found that the original battery of my Toshiba laptop comes with quite low capacity, i bought a new higher capacity Toshiba laptop battery from Toshiba-laptop-battery.com. since i often have to work out of my office, i really don't like the case that when i considering the problem, the LED of the power warn me of "low power". so, when you plan to buy a laptop, u'd better consider a high capacity laptop battery for your laptop
