Hello,

I have a K8T Neo2 motherboard and I'm wondering what to set my bios settings at for the type of cpu and ram that I have.

Here is what I have:
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ (1 GHZ FSB -- not integrated into chip)
768 MB of PC3200 RAM
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
Windows XP

Right now, in my bios the HT Frequency is at 800 Mhz, but I thought it could run at 1000 Mhz. Should I change this?

Plus the Memclock Value is at DDR200 -- why isn't it at DDR400, or what is the correct setting for this. My CPU has a 1 Ghz FSB.

I am a total newb when it comes to Bios settings. So if someone could help me out I'd appreciate it! I tried setting it to DDR400 once and my computer crashed when I was playing games. So I don't know why cause I thought it could handle DDR400.

Thanks.

Your bios should look something like this:

These setting should be adjustable through the bios page.

You may need to update the bios to support the newer cpu codes this could also be the issue.

Yeah, the bios misconfigures my CPU and Memory. I have to set the values manually. This seems to not only be an Nforce issue then if it affects the via chipsets as well. AMD problem maybe?

2 different vendors, 2 different chipsets, similar processor vendor, similar problem.

Mine says 800Mhz FSB, HT is 1000. My HT should be 2000 and my FSB should be 1000. But it views it as a 3700+ Athlon just fine, and its 1MB L2 cache and stepping E4 which is san diego core.

Odd. My processor is seen correctly I think its just Asus's Ai Booster that doesn't show stuff right. It still shows my FSB at 800 and my HT at 1,000. But CPUID shows everything perfectly.

yes I would suggest not using their software ....it is known to muck up quite abit these days, many problems with it posted on their forums and other places.

Your fine, what happens is with mixed ram like that ,thats what
in most cases your going to get ! you have mixed up ram ,and
thats the kind of results . Best bet is go with (same ) ram . 512,
or 1Gg.
