Well, I had a working system until I decided to add a new SATA Hard Drive. I wasn't sure if I could use my existing ATA Hard drive and SATA Hard Drive together, but I decided to give it a shot. What could possibly go wrong? :)

When trying to boot with it installed, the mobo made its power up click noise but continued to repeat this noise at one second intervals without actually powering up. All fans spun, but that's about it. Upon disconnecting the SATA Hard Drive and rebooting, the problem continued. Then, I disconnected the ATA Hard Drive and IDE devices. Same problem.

This also occurred about 4-5 months ago. I bought a new 500w power supply and the problem disappeared.

I'm going to disconnect everything and at least try to get the motherboard to boot. In the meantime, has anyone else experienced something like this or have any suggestions? I'll keep you updated on my progress.

Did you unplug the computer from the wall outlet before you opened up the case to add the new SATA drive?
