Bootable CD not working on another computer

Well I burned knoppix (bootable linux) on a cd and it boots fine on my computer but just doesnt work on my friends computer. Windows XP boots fine on his computer.

Anyone know why this is happening....And any remedies?

Greatly appreciate any help.

Do you mean the friend's pc boots from a Windows XP cd fine?

you need to go into his bios and make his cdrom 1st on the boot list then his hard drive

yeah i meant it boots xp cd fine and yes i did change the bios to load the cd first

When booting from the xp cd - are you prompted to "press any key to boot from cd?"

If yes, and you don't see that when you attempt to boot from the knoppix cd, then try tapping the spacebar right after the initial bios screen - which would be around the time it should prompt you.

After the bios setup screen does the cd spin up at all?
