booting from USB for old laptop.

Is there any way how to boot from usb for my travelmate 290e? This laptop doesnt have the function when I check at BIOS setting. I install the flash bios installer that i get from acer website but it is still not working.
Is it possible? or do i need to change to the newest laptop?

Your BIOS needs to support the USB boot feature, so if a BIOS update doesn't help, then you're pretty much out of luck.
