Can anyone suggest a likely repair to my SATA connection hard drive. My son wanted to install a new hard drive but in connecting the cable he pressed to hard and broke the plastic L shapped connector. The contacts are present and in good shape but the hard drive is not recognized in the bios....

you have to install drivers for SATA drives before even the bios will recognized it(unless your bios are current),but if the plug pins/contacts are still in place and not to bad of shape you could most likely just use it as is or just super glue the part that broke off back in...make sure you let it dry before you put it in or it well be a hard wired drive from then on,lol.....

drivers for your boards RAID or SATA controller might also need to be installed before the drive well be see by your computer...
