building new comp

i just built a new comp and got a problem. i turn the power on the cpu and case fan will spin for a few seconds and stop. the processor isnt running but the power led will stay on

anyone know what could be the problem

Does the fan in the power supply continue to run or does that stop too? Disconnect the HD and the CDROM. See it does the same thing?

the fan in the power supply stops as well

but i know it isnt that cause im using the powersupply right now and yah i disconnected both and it still does that

If the power supply fan stops as well, then the power switch is bad or connected wrong.
