I don't know what it is, but I can't burn ISOs the size of Linux Distribution Live CDs (between 600-700MB), although I can burn, say, GParted (which comes in an ISO, about 30MB) very well. I believe the drive can also burn music and whatever, but none of that matters. It will never succeed with Distro (Distribution) Live CDs, and what's in common is the large size of those files.

Is my CD-RW drive like an old man who can't complete a walk through the park? Keep in mind I bought this laptop December 2005. It's brand new.

It's Philips SCB5265 with the latest firmware (17). I tried installing ASPI layers with forceASPI to see if that worked, although I use Win. XP SPII.

Note: MD5Sums match, and my CD can hold up to 700MB (more than the file size).

Most cd's can only hold 600mb so if you are trying to put anything bigger onto it then it probably wont work.

I am not trying to add anything greater in size than the CD can handle. The CD can handle up to 700MB.
