Can I use a RAID card to just add more hard drives to my computer or must they be in a RAID configuration? Specifically this card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16816116030

I was under the impression that Jbod was the combination of...just a buch of disks. as in 5 hard drives are made to be one volume.

All about jbod.

You should be able to hook the drives to the card and not configure an array and have independent disks.
