You said that you can get to a C:\> prompt, correct? If you can then do it again and type dir/p and press enter. Does it list anything?

If not, the only other thing I can suggest is to remove the HD and get one of those USB external HD enclosures and connect it to another PC. The PC will give the HD a drive letter and you can see what's on it.
