It sounds like you have overheating problems. Check for good air flow. You can also test by taking off the side panel. Make sure to have good ventalation in the area of the comp.

Check to see if your cpu or graphics card is overheating. Get proper cooling if so.

Mav06,
Can you provide a little more information?
After how long?
What happens when you use just the internet?
I have reinstalled windows
I have formatted my hard drive
What changed from it was working fine and now it's not?
Anything overclocked?
How old is the computer?
When I play any game or just one?
And as to 7 or 20 fans, if the item is overclocked, it won't matter how many fans.

Its pretty much random when it frezze.
It never freezes when just using App and using the internet
I reinstalled Win XP Pro (fresh Copy) still haveing problems
I did format my HDD in NTFS Format
Nothing changed that i know about
Nothing is overclocked
Can't really tell you how old the computer is i have built it in the last year and a half
it does it on every game even Empire Earth which has very low system Requirments. (COD, WC3, UT 2004, HALO, Empire Earth, Battle Field 1942)
It would matter how many fans it has by keeping the system cool and keeping it stable and not frying the cpu.

Do you also have the most up to date drivers for your video card?

I still have to disagree agout the fans. No matter how many you have you can only cool it to the temperature of the room. If the item is producing a large amount heat, no amount of PASSIVE colling will resolve the issue. Active cooling must then be implemented. Peltier cooler ie water cooling etc.

Do you have another graphics card you could swap into your PC ?

Or try disabling your card completely and running a game to see what happens.

I`m not sure its a heat problem to be honest. There should be a large collection of transistors [ http://www.ixbt.com/video2/images/gffx- ... n-back.jpg <--- The square collection in the center surrounded by dark red in this pic ], it should be hot to touch but not so much that it burns you.

Give it a quick feel and see if it is to hot.

Try this whilst the computer is idle and under load of a game.

Hey Lefty, if you want crappy passive cooling check this link out ....

They do a GPU version aswell :P

Thanks Enigma, but I'm OK with my cooling solution. As for the heat issue I agree that's not it.

A failing video card would be my first swap out.

One other thing is that Abit Mobo's have been overheating due to problems with the manufacturing process. Who makes your motherboard?
