When playing a DX 9 game (BAFF2, CO, etc.) after about 5 to 30 minutes it shuts itself off. Now I have went into my bios and into my setup menu after I have rebooted. It is showing cpu temp to be less or around 40 degrees celsius, never anymore than 40 though.

Specs:
AMID Athlon 64 4000+
6600CT Nvidia
MS KA8NA Ne4-FA
Antic 400wy
CEP SAP2

I've checked all the connections from my power supply. As well as on the mob.

Even though it's not that high, open the case and leave the cover off. See what happens.
Is it an abrupt shutdown?

That spell check screwed up my post. Sorry about that. I already am doing so.

Yes it is. It just powers off just as if I had powered it off. I will be doing something in a game and it will do it.

Only when I have a games up and running. It has only occurred once when I wasn't playing a game.

It's probably unlikely to be the problem, but have you tried running a memory test? Never hurts to check for bad RAM.

I agree. It sounds like a memory problem. How much memory is there?

Well I have a gig or memory. I'm thinking it could be my power supply. It's a year old and I haven't cleaned it in forever so it could have gotten some moisture or dirt/dust of some sort.

1 gig of memory for BF2? hmmm that's probably pushing it if you ask me. I would run a memory test.

But from previous experience it was always a temperature problem if the computer randomly shuts off.

Perhaps your video card is overheating or something?

I had my video card clocked to far. It was overheating and that was the problem. Thanks for the info.
