connect line in, in realtek on Gigabyte M\B

I have used one of these M\B's

I can not get it to recognise my line in, it insists that I am connecting earphones.

Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

huh? im not quite sure what your talking about. where u connect earphones would be a line out. im guessing your talking about an audio card. please be more specific of your problem
