Im guessing as a generalization about 10% - 50%, this is depending on temperatures that it is operating at, voltage going through it and so on. If the CPU is under a Vapochill or Water Cooling system then its going to last a whole lot longer than if its on the stock heatsink.

i've been on ALL kinds of P4 systems even intels best, running at almost 4Ghz's and my 2.6Ghz FX kicked its but on every editing program i ran and test my friends would let me run...after i proved to them that there 4 grand computer is worthless compared to AMD's Athlon 64 FX-55,Let alone AMD's 64 X2's..They showed me to the door lol...i myself would be willing to say that intel's days are numbered...AMD is just doing what intel cant,Giving people what they paid for...

as i always say,If u dont like AMD then u have not played with a true AMD system.

say if my mobo max speed is 2ghz and i overclock my cpu...can i use it still past the speed limit?

It all depends on the size of the Overclock, a few Mhz isn't going to decrease the CPU life span a great whereas, a Ghz or over may knock a year or so off its life.

In general when Overclocking, you would look to decrease your multiplier and increase the FSB and CPU voltage.

VapoChill is a Water cooling company. They are pretty much the best there is for water cooling. In my opinion anyway.

when using an sli mobo... in order to use the sli feature i have to use the same exact cards and pci xpress x8???? is that true???
if so would it be better to just get a regular mobo that supports x16 and 1 gpu. i game mostly.

Your CPU's speed is in worked out using the following equation:

CPU Multiplier x FSB = Clock Speed

Check the Overclocking link I gave you before for more info on it.

Check the mobo manual for what type(s) of GPU your mobo can take.

Either that or just look on the mobo and see if there is a PCI-E, AGP or none of the above.
