Cpu questions dual core vs non dual core

Hey, My friend is going to get a new processor and a new motherboard

He wanted to know Is a Dual core 3.0 ghz processor faster than a non dual core 3.6 ghz processor

and would it go really fast with that and 2 gigs of ddr memmory ??

In theory no it wouldnt be faster just able to do more functions at one time, and unless they are doing high end graphics or video editing or something of that nature then 2gb of ram is useless.

Lol my Uncle bret has 4 gigs of ram and just uses his comp to surf the web :lol:

My grandfather has as many computers as I do, and he's 79. The minimum amount of ram in his computers is 1Gig.
