Well...I have:
128MB Geforce FX 5200
ASUS K8N Mainboard
1 GIG HyperX Kingston DDR400 RAM
============================

I hooked up everything correctly, the mainboard is new...the processor is new...and ihooked up everything and it turns on....and there is no video...the thing is that... I checked the videocard on my friends PC and it works...and when i put it in mine...doenst work...don't know what to do sad.gif

after looking at it further, it doesnt show that the videocard is working....the fan isnt moving... on the new motherboard.

If there is no video does not necessarily it means there is a problem with the video. Sometimes, when you put the memory card incorrectly also can be the cause, you can check to make sure your memory card is installed properly to the motherboard, another possibility is there is a problem with the motherboard/processor.

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be bad processor. Did you try your mobo in your friend's computer as well?

On times like these, I'd test each piece of hardware on a working computer...

:) It's easy to test out the graphic card and memory into other computers..but for motherboard and processor...that can taku one whole day just to test them.. Good luck anyway.

ya i think testing the stuff(although slower) is far cheaper gt500shelby

i cant remember the name but there is a company that makes a universal memory and cpu test station

its pretty cool but a costly investment

it has a slot for all memory above pc100 and an interchangeable cpu slot for all sockets after 486

its something like chiptest station or something like that

do you have a speaker plugged into the board and are you getting any post beeps when you start the machine up?

this could tell you if it's the ram or what... could being the operative word
