Man i love that mod, espec. the keyboard and mouse!

My computer is modded so it has no case... It runs as the motherboard with all the cards plugged in hanging over the side of the desk.

My mum was kinda worried about it and bought me a fire extingusher for my room

Very nice, I wish I had the cash to do that kind of stuff. I just sent my case in to be airbrushed and I think that was a little too expensive for me :?

You could just take the side panels off and cut the rivets on the top panels so that your just left with the metal frame. That way you do a cardboard / plastic / lego or whatever mod 8)

Hmmmm, baring computer components (which I'm assuming are top of the range if you love your computer this much), you are looking at:

PVA glue and sand for texture
Plasticard or thin sheets of metal
Some pieces of clear acrylic
some paint.
the lemonade bottles
Other junk you have lying around (flick switches, knobs etc)

I think your hardware store is ripping you off rat  this kind of effect takes time, skill and effort, but very little money.

Yeh, i agree. Spending 2k just wouldn't be worth it, the main cost is time.

I would say that I could put together the aesthetic components for £100 at the very most. I would imagine a lot cheaper.

Making it I do not have the skill to do :(

I dont think it is that cheap rtm.
Customisation like that is pretty expensive.
cars, computers,.. they are expensive when customised.
Actually major part of costs depends on the chip N graphics card, isnt it

Well thats exactly what I'm saying. The worky bits cost plenty. I'm sure he has a whole bunch of top spec components in there. But thats not what we are talking about.

The visual mod, that makes it so special is cheap. And yes it is that cheap. There are no high tech processes involved, just basic, cheap materials. Time is the major factor.

What, in the visual side of things will cost a lot? I've listed the main materials that could be used for such a project, it's all cheap stuff

Check the 5th picture down on the original thread - all just cheap junk.....

I agree with rtm here, £100 is the top end cost of it i'd say. It's like the kind of thing they'd make on Blue Peter :P (A British kids tv program that the presenters made kool things out of things like washing up bottles and sticky back plastic  )
