I think one of you guys have the exact same PC (Brent???)

OK! check it!

this 8200 belongs to some dingy chick that calls me up and begs me for sexual favors in exchange for fixing her PC...

This is what she did:
Opened her PC to clean the dust inside of it...

after she closed it and tried booting it up the following message came up:
"strike F1 to retry boot, F2 to go to setup"

Now I was in a hurry and didn't really ask her how she screwed the PC up...
She was on her way to phily so I took her PC to my shack...

I am not sure on the fly what the problem could be so this is what I did:

Opened PC
Checked all wires -- they're fine and where they should be
Checked the BIOS -- everything seems in order
Dell website recommended to clear the System Log -- did it (no dice!)
Exited BIOS saving changes & rebooted

NOW the FREAKING THING DOESN'T BOOT UP!!!
so....

I checked the Plug -- it's fine (connected to another PC and it booted fine)
Checked Case for Alarms or triggers that warn about open cases (nada)
Checked MoBo -- for shorts and/or cracks w/ magnifying glass & flashlight (none at all)
Checked Power Supply connector on MoBo -- its properly connected
Checked for power lights -- MoBo & NIC is lit (so power is definately being supplied)(Although I don't know how much)

I am suspicious about the Power Button not making contact with the inner button behind the plastic cover in the front of the PC...

So I'm fresh out of ideas! And I can't get in touch with the biatch!

What do you think it can be?!

Before any one gives advice I found out what the problem was...

for reference purposes I'll post it here...

The 8200 seems to have 2 hidden USB ports in the front of the tower right behind the DELL logo.

If this is removed or opened and then closed back again, the power button misaligns itself with the inner button that is actually a switch wired to a green circuit board that in turn is connected to the MoBo. Now when you press the power button nothing turns on...

so I opened that front panel and left it open! Pressed the power button!
Lo and behold the damn thing turned on!

The "Strike F1 to retry boot, F2 to go to setup" dissappeared and XP booted up!

Well I found out that the sexual favor girl used a feather duster to clean the guts of the PC. Baraboom! Jibroni!

I guess that's what you get when dealing with pharmecutical blondes!
When I see her she's gonna get the Smacketh Down from my ROCKA--strudel!!!

Can U SMELLLLLLLLLLLLLL what the ROCK is cookin!!!!!!!!!

*lol -- I was just about to say the same thing, re: what? but after a second glance it makes sense. Dude....guess you just have to have a Dell to follow it. (Even though I'm not sure I did entirely *lol). But I bet 2 months from now, someone using Google will find this post and that will answer his/her problem. Gotta love OZZU!

I guess the part that didn't make sense to me and seemed totally irrelevant was this:

That and the fact that he posted the "question" in one thread and then started this thread to answer it.

*lol Makes perfect sense to me. Anyway, I didn't realize there was an original thread and I've merged the two.
