Dell laptop to tv?

How do i hook up my laptop to run on the tv monitor... I have the wires but they still dont seem to work.... any Ideas?

If u have S-Video (which u supose to have) then plug it in to your laptop and TV. Then go display properties->settings->advanced->displays. There u'll see three things: PC, laptop and TV, turn on the button on tv and apply it. This is basicly it, unless u wnat to make some changes in properties, like make an extension for ur monitor.
