my dell dj is making funny noises

when i got home today, i turned on my dj, and after an unsually long bottup, i was presented witha a frozen "selected music" screen. i rebooted it, through the rescue utility and was surprised to hear a noise somewhat like this "tukka tukka tukka tukka tukka tukka teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" over and over again. i now cannot do anything, and every once in a whie, i get "hard disk error" popping up. can i try and freeze the entire unit itself, or is it time to just replace it?

Sounds like the hard drive is dying, look for a replacement.

yeah, i just found that out on the dell forum, after only 20-ish minutes of looking. god tech support, or support of any kind with dell is terrible.
