Different memory speeds

I have a Dell Dimension 4500 with 256 MB of PC-2100 RAM. Would it be okay to have in one slot 256 MB of PC-2100 RAM and in another slot have 512 PC-3200 RAM? Could it create compatibility issues or a bottle neck?

Check the specifications of the motherboard on the manufacturer's web site before you change anything. Mismatched memory can cause big problems.
