before moving this topic, i tried a search, and simply found topics concerning external video cards that support dual monitors.

That is not what i'm looking for. What I really hope to find is the possibility of having an external video card for a laptop for gaming. The onboard graphics card just doesn't cut it.

Do they have such things? Was thinking an ATI card or an Nvidia card, used externally for better gaming.

Thanks for any possible suggestions and help.

I haven't seen any external video adapters that could do gaming. Besides any USB/serial bus would definately kill your speed to the video card.

I'd say if you can, upgrade the internal video chip on the laptop. I know some laptops that allow that. Most newer ones do.

Video cards that are external are slower than regular cards. Your intergrated one will sure look more faster than the external one
