Please help! I just installed a new HD in my Dell LAtitude CPt laptop. I am trying to boot from a WIndows 98 CD just to get it going then will upgrade to XP.

When I turn the computer on I get a message to try and reboot. So I went to the setup menu and swithced it to boot from CD drive first.

I am still getting the message. PLEASE HELP!

Thanks

Did you Format the drive before you tried to install the OS. ?

If you can get the A:\ prompt ,from the windows 98 floppy, then type in

FORMAT C:/S and then hit enter .

Good deal ,glad to hear it.
You will never get a new H/D
that already formated,they
don't no how you will use ,
if your going to put more than OS
on it ,and how many partitions you
will make .ya no .lol
I've seen a lot of people do what you
did, thing is now, you won't ever forget , and now you will help somone else out.
