Ok, this is a very odd problem.

I have copied two spreadsheet files onto two different Flash disks to copy them from one machine to another yet when i plug in the flash disks to either machine they dont appear on the disks.

I really have no idea what is causing this to happen. Is this some sort of common problem?

Whilst its not a majorly important thing anymore, does anyone know what the problem might have been? or is this a common thing that happens to some Flash disks.

Seemed quite odd.

How many drives do you have and what are they labeled. Some USB Flash Drives want to be drive D: and that drive may have already been taken.

There is no problem with the computer seeing the drive...its more a problem with certain files not being seen on the disk on another machine. When i put the Flash Disk in the USB port it always tends to appear as the E: drive on every machine i have tried.

I copied the spreadsheet files from a computer that has a D drive (the DVD drive) and an A drive (the floppy disk drive) to my laptop which just has the D: drive which is my DVD drive.

Actually, not too sure where the 1 Gig disk came from but the 125mb disk i got free with my laptop (after some haggling) was from PC World (the UK's biggest computer store company bla)
