Gaming Graphics card advise needed.

I am wanting to get a new graphics card, im after dirext10 so Ive been looking at these 2 ...

Nvidia 8600GT

and the Nvidia 8500GT

I see that the 8600 is faster, but why is it cheaper? Ive heard good things about "xfx" which is what the 8500 is.

Can anyone give me any advise on which would be better for gaming purposes. Ive been looking at these 2 because they are around £100 which is about how much im wanting to spend.

Any feedback on these cards or any others would be greatly appreciated.

Well the reason for the prices is because of the company's name.

I would personally go with what ever has the highest clock speed because that is what it mostly comes down to when gaming. All though drivers and such do play a big roll. I have no idea what the first cards manufactures are so I cant help you there.

If you are willing push out a little more you can get the XFX 8600 for around 120 euro's It has a higher clock rate on both gpu and the ram: 620/1600MHz

Thanks for the advise, I would probably spend a bit more if it was gonna be worth it.

The cheapest ive seen an XFX 8600 is about £170 tho, do you know of anywhere i could get one cheaper cause that way out my price range?
