If i get broadband and have an alarm ( back to base)

if iget broadband and have an alarm do i really need to get the filter?

umm

we got a home alarm that is connected back to base meaning that is connected to the agency , the alarm agency, and once the alarm goes off itll automatically contact the agency.

i was told that i need a filter for my alarm...

i see.
well, from 3 minutes of research, i would say yes, if you have dsl. i cant find any mention of you needing a filter if its cable.

if the alarm goes over your phone line, then yes you need a filter.. just like with the phones in your house will have a filter aswell..
