your question is very vague and i do not totaly understand it. What i got out of it was "why is the geforce 4 64 mbs not compadible with prince of persia or other 3d games". Can you expand on your problem? will these 3d games just not work?

Prince of persia
PC REQUIREMENTS

Operating System : Windows® 98 SE / ME / 2000 / XP
Processor : Pentium® III 800 MHz or faster / AMD Athlon 800 MHz or faster
Memory :256 MB RAM or greater recommended
Video Card : GeForce III or higher (Excluding GeForce IV MX.)
DirectX 9.0a (included on CD)
Drive Space: 1.5 GB minimum hard drive space.
CD-ROM: 16X or better.
Peripherals: Windows compatible mouse (with wheel) / keyboard required
Additional Supported Peripherals: Thrustmaster Firestorm Dual Analog 2 Gamepad

"Video Card : GeForce III or higher (Excluding GeForce IV MX.)" is this what your question is? "why doesnt the game work with GeForce IV MX?"

my only guess is that the MX version of the Geforce 4 isnt powerful enough to run prince of persia. But i realy do not know much about nvidia cards so that is my closest guess. If i am right and it isnt a powerful enough card then the only way to be able to play prince of persia would be to get a new video card.

You never said anything about your Processor ,how much ram you have ?
What drivers you have installed ?

I would uninstall your driver's ( control panel ,add and remove programs)

Then I would run Driver Cleaner !
http://www.driverheaven.net/cleaner/

and I like to use NFR,just to be shure (Nasty File Remover for Nvidia)
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3233.html

then I would install a good generic driver that has proven itself.=53.03

The card is out of date and very slow for games. Not sure but the GF4 MX may not have pixel shader functionality required by most of the latest 3d games?

I just looked at the specs on that game (Prince of Persia)that you are trying to play (and it's pretty ancient) came out in 1999. So ,even tho
you have an MMX card, your card is alot newer than the game you trying
to play ! So you should be able to play it

hes not talking about prince of persia from 1999 hes talking about prince of persia: sands of time its quite new no more then about 6-8 months so i dont think that MX card is good enough.

Hi, just stumbled across this board.

The GF4MX doesn't have pixel shaders like Johan said. Think this was DX8 functionality. If you search on google for 3DAnalyse you can emulate this through software, but be warned as with all emulation it is much slower so you'll need a very beefy CPU to try and get it playable. And drop the rez way down too.

Geforce 4 MX is actually less powerful than a Geforce 3. That's your problem probaly. You'll have to upgrade your video card if you wish to play the more current games.
